Singing super-star Katy Perry launched her 2nd celebrity fragrance, MEOW! The fruity floral scent by Givaudan perfumers includes notes of honeysuckle and pear with a dry-down of amber, musk and creamy vanilla.

The perfume bottle is still a whimsical cat shaped, jewel-eyed delight as was her debut fragrance, Purr by Katy Perry, but the flacon is a lighter purple color, with an "M" charm attached.

The fragrance is available in 1.7oz/3.4oz Eau de Parfum available exclusively at Nordstrom.

Frenchman Frederic Malle, the driving force behind the Editions de Parfums that he began in 2000, launched his first book "Frederic Malle: On Perfume Making" (Angelika) this week at Barney's on Madison Avenue. The book gives the reader a look into the process involved in creating the perfect fragrance. The forward is written by Catherine Deneuve (actress and Chanel No5 model), and illustrations were done by Konstantin Kakanias. In the book, Malle provides his fragrance formulas with breakdowns of each ingredient, where to buy them and their cost, showing the business side of perfumery rather than romanticizing the process.

The French perfume house of Guerlain is launching a new powder chypre spray for women for the Christmas season. Vol de Nuit (Night Flight) is base on the original 1933 fragrance, that's packaged in a powder atomizer bottle for the body, face, and hair. Tagged as where "makeup and fragrance merge in an ultimate beauty step." The limited edition fragrance is available in a 0.86 oz. spray sold at Macy's and Nordstrom.

The new Vol de Nuit notes include green notes and woods, softened with iris and vanilla. The original Vol be Nuit perfume, created by perfumer Jacques Guerlain in 1933, included heperetic notes, narcissis/galbanum, oakmoss, and spices, in addition to the green notes, woods, vanilla and iris in the December 2011 Vol de Nuit fragrance. Ed Hardy Villain Perfume and Cologne

After watching a video tutorial from MakeupGeek on YouTube on how to *conceal* my under eye circles, I took a trip to my local Ulta store to purchase some SmashBox cosmetics...primer, concealer, and finishing powder...and to take advantage of my coupon (luv to save money!) - since getting extra sleep is not in the cards for this busy working mom and wife - we need all the help we can get from our great beauty supplies, right ladies?

It's the first Friday of December, and the place was slammed with Christmas shoppers. The festive environment of the store, customers and sales girls, was just the pick-me-up I needed at the end of a busy work week. The fragrance section had a glamorous makeover to display all the holiday pre-packaged perfumes and colognes, and being *ThePerfumeGirl*, I spent the majority of my time in that section of the store.

Front and center was the new ED HARDY VILLAIN fragrance for men and women display.
Villain for Woman was a bright fruity fragrance, perfect for the younger gals on your Christmas list...the lychee and freesia were very dominant, reminding me of Bath & Body Works Sweet Pea fragrance. Ed Hardy Villain for Men really struck my fancy, with it's clean aromatic scent and slightly woody base. This scent would be perfect for the young men on your gift list, or even for a more sporty gal-pal who doesn't favor the overly sweet scent of Villain for Women. Overall, both fragrances were geared toward a younger crowd, and the fun bottle designs were fab!
