Frenchman Frederic Malle, the driving force behind the Editions de Parfums that he began in 2000, launched his first book "Frederic Malle: On Perfume Making" (Angelika) this week at Barney's on Madison Avenue.  The book gives the reader a look into the process involved in creating the perfect fragrance.  The forward is written by Catherine Deneuve (actress and Chanel No5 model), and illustrations were done by Konstantin Kakanias.  In the book, Malle provides his fragrance formulas with breakdowns of each ingredient, where to buy them and their cost, showing the business side of perfumery rather than romanticizing the process.

Botanical perfume house of Yves Rocher has launched a new rose floral green fragrance Moment de Bonheur this Fall.  Moment de Bonheur (moment of happiness) was created by perfume Annick Menardo using rose centifolio absolute and infusion, along with the essential oil of geranium for a fresh green scent, and dry down of patchouli and cedar wood essential oils.  Available in a 1.7 oz. eau de parfum, purse spray and matching body products.

The French perfume house of Guerlain is launching a new powder chypre spray for women for the Christmas season.  Vol de Nuit (Night Flight) is base on the original 1933 fragrance, that's packaged in a powder atomizer bottle for the body, face, and hair. Tagged as where "makeup and fragrance merge in an ultimate beauty step."  The limited edition fragrance is available in a 0.86 oz. spray sold at Macy's and Nordstrom.

After watching a video tutorial from MakeupGeek on YouTube on how to *conceal* my under eye circles, I took a trip to my local Ulta store to purchase some SmashBox cosmetics...primer, concealer, and finishing powder...and to take advantage of my coupon (luv to save money!) - since getting extra sleep is not in the cards for this busy working mom and wife - we need all the help we can get from our great beauty supplies, right ladies?

It's the first Friday of December, and the place was slammed with Christmas shoppers.  The festive environment of the store, customers and sales girls, was just the pick-me-up I needed at the end of a busy work week.  The fragrance section had a glamorous makeover to display all the holiday pre-packaged perfumes and colognes, and being *ThePerfumeGirl*, I spent the majority of my time in that section of the store.

Front and center was the new ED HARDY VILLAIN fragrance for men and women display.
